We supported Shaggy Sheep yesterday and had their Short Rib take and bake dinner. It was good!

Finally found yeast!

Awesome!
For those of you who bake bread, being without yeast is probably a true hardship.

Probably like me being without pectin...

Yep, being without yeast we have to bake the kind of bread that takes yeast out of the air and that takes awhile to rise--like a day or more. Same concept as making sourdough starter with potato water.

I went to the store looking for chicken, but they were mostly out here and I bought fish instead. Will make that with a coating on one side of coarse ground mustard covered with a mixture of ground pistachio, olive oil and Italian bread crumbs. Mmmm. Served up with spinach in butter.

Have you guys checked Natural Grocers for yeast? They seem to be fully stocked with all their usual stuff lately. At least they are carrying everything I usually buy there.
However prices have gone up a bit on several things.

You could call and ask?

Uninspired tonight...
We had smoothies with raspberries, blueberries and blackberries frozen last summer. Yogurt, protein powder,
ice cubes, milk and a little honey. Came together in about five minutes.

I have been purging my house...cleaned out some old San Francisco Sourdough starter. One jar still looked good so I stirred it up, discarded some and started feeding it. We'll see if I can bring it back. Another note though, when I went to the grocery store yesterday, King Soopers, they did have yeast. Not a lot but they did have some Active and Instant.

Been too busy cleaning up the kitchen, but made stuffed peppers with beautiful reddish/orange with yellow striped peppers, and grilled spare ribs. Need help with leftovers ribs. Anyone hungry?

Wow, if it wasn't for safer-at-home, I'd try to get myself invited over for lunch!

This morning I had fresh picked asparagus in my omellet. YUM!
Only about 3 minutes from the garden to the saute pan where the bacon pieces had just finished up. Added a diced mushroom with the asparagus. Fresh eggs from my hens. I couldn't decide on which cheese... went with brie (and lots of it). Garnished with garden fresh chives and the bacon pieces! Delightful!!

I had planned to take a picture but the camera battery needed recharging. Oh well.

Pork Yat Gaw Mein. Mmmmm.

Don't see it on Chinese menus here, but back East it's nearly as common as shrimp toast--another something you don't see in the western Chinese places, at least the ones I have visited.

We have a resting 10 lb pork butt that's been in the smoker for 24 1/2 hours.
