I used to LOVE Brooks, but lately (past 6-9 months?) food has been "meh" at best. Service is always up and down based on on the day and the server, but I used to be able to count on good food. Not sure if kitchen/chef has changed or what but the last 3 visits were NOT good (once I ordered the special on the waitress's recommendation and it was inedible, and she saw I didn't eat it and didn't even offer to comp it or replace it when I told her it was terrible - I ate my daughter's fries instead). Overcooked burnt burgers, flavorless dry food, terrible specials.....I used to always get the "special" at dinner because it was always delicious! Haven't been back in a few months. I like the owners, location, atmosphere, and drink selection, but they better get the service and kitchen straightened out to keep my business. My fav was the old autumn club with turkey, bacon, cheese, a slice of apple, and cranberry sauce! So good!

From their Facebook page:
"We experienced a kitchen fire this morning. Thank goodness everyone is okay and our Ansel system worked to distinguish the fire! We will be closed today and tonight, as we clean up and prepare to be back open for business - hopefully tomorrow.

A shout out to Elk Creek Fire Department for their quick response and awesome help, much appreciated!!"

We have eaten at Brooks for years and we have had good and bad experiences but not enough to stop going...until now. Last night, we went to Brooks for dinner and ordered their potato skins. The potato skins were overbaked and dry...I couldn't eat them! Are the cooks in kitchen even checking what is being sent out? This was just the start of what was to come...we both ordered the chicken gyro...we waited and we waited and when the waitress did bring them, they were cold! No apology from the waitress...she only said that the gyros were placed after our potato skins. Well, if that was true...why were they cold? The gyros were returned to the kitchen and they made us new ones (which came back warm). The waitress did not charge us for the potato skins...a nice gesture. After all these years of supporting Brooks, we've decided that we will not go back to Brooks...the quality of the food just does not match the prices.

We too have eaten at Brooks for years and had ups and downs but I am continuing to see the service getting worse and staff not even caring. Food is hit or miss depending on the day. Last time we were in there, we sent the silverware back twice because it was dirty. I really hope they start working on the downs to have more quality service and food that we used to see there.
