aaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

The block started wearing off at 11am so I took 5mg of percocet to stay ahead of surgery pain that was blocked before. The good news is the armpit pain is very low and I do have some pain at site where the tendon was reattached (for the second time-once during surgery)

I go in next Thursday to have staples out and check up with doc. I have no idea how he has time for any office time. My surgery was scheduled for noon and I was his FIFTH surgery out of SEVEN that day. This is a hella busy time as folks have met their deductibles and are getting stuff operated on.

I no longer have any pain on my shoulder blade which is a big deal because I have not been able to lean back or lay on my for months. I am sleeping mostly sitting up but have made a very cushy nest on the sofa in Cassi's room. I am basically living in there while I heal up. I am up and down so much, especially in the middle of the night, it is just better if I do my own thing and not have to worry about keeping Roger up while I am lurking around and my set up is not conducive to sharing a bed and I make a lot of noise when changing from the two positions I can sleep in because it hurts to move around. anyway... onward and upward.

shower tomorrow. I am not allowed to move my shoulder at all. I need to go dig up an old cheap sling that they give you at the hospital for showers. I don't care if that gets wet, but the one I bought is really comfy and I don't want to get it wet. I must keep my arm bent in front of my body when up and about (where the sling comes in) when I am tucked in the sofa, I take the sling off and keep my arm down on a pillow by my side. This may be how I get through this for a whole six weeks. If I sleep in the bed without the sling, I am more prone to lifting my arm up onto the pillow and that is a no no until mid February.

pain increased when block wore off yesterday. shoulder blade, top of shoulder , front of shoulder where the tendon was reattached., and arm pit. well basically all of my shoulder... the same incision was opened up again about 8 inches down the front of my shoulder. :help: ...I got about 3 hours sleep last night, but it is not like I am doing anything to tire me out...ice machine and pain meds trying to move my arm much at all...
I need to stay off Etsy!

Binge watching Numb3rs. I can't believe I did not know about that show when it was on. I really like it, love the characters and relationships.

I was actually able to sleep through most of the night, so I FINALLY got some good sleep. It is the first good sleep since Saturday, so I just "feel" better. Couple that with taking my first shower this morning. hoo boy, do I smell good

I highly recommend this sling. I hate slings. They are scratchy and pull on my neck. but THIS one is VERY comfortable and easy to adjust and get on and off

so, this healing up crap is long and I have pain. I have been in a sling now for a month since the surgery and another week before I see my surgeon again. This is update I just sent Dr. Reister this morning.

Another saga in Angela’s everlasting attempt to heal up.

Last night I fell. From about 2 feet off the floor to the floor.
I was feeling good, just took a shower, had been lying down playing with my cat, Cassi, and stood up and bent all the way over to put my hair up in a scrunchie. It is the only way to let gravity help gather my hair and be able to get a hold of it and wrap it with one arm.

VERTIGO hit. I fell to my knees. I know what it is and was waiting for it to pass. Usually, I just go for a couple of loops with my eyes spinning around and it is gone. And usually, my vertigo, when it strikes, is positional when I tip my head BACK not forward so I am careful to not do that. Not last night. Instead of me feeling stationary and the world going around for a couple of loops, it was like the world was stationary and I was spinning out of control. I could not keep myself from hitting the floor no matter how much I focused. It was like something came up and slammed me down, hard.

I was holding my arm against my chest, so focused to not injure it. I went down all the way, hitting my face into the floor, scraping my nose and the front of my elbow on my surgery arm. It hurt. I hurt. I was so scared and so worried I had torn it up again. After my husband calmed me down, and made sure I was OK, I settled down and waited for pain to subside. I woke this morning, sore, my shoulder feeling OK but I do have some occasional “burning feeling” in my arm pit, which is where the muscle runs that was repaired, stretched and reattached to the front of my shoulder. I have a buzzing in my head around my nose-forehead area where I am still unstable and feel unsafe to move around.

I do have something going on with my sinuses and am seeing an ENT next Tuesday. For the past month, I have sticky mucus in the back of my throat that causes me to not be able to swallow easily or breathe out through my nose. I saw a PA at Conifer Medical last week and she put me on antibiotics. I finish the 10 days in the morning. No change in my symptoms. Maybe it is all related. Maybe not.

I am so over not feeling well. As The Rogernator says "you're sick and tired of feeling sick and tired".

yeah, pretty much.

I guess you have a right to be... I hope your facial injuries are not too bad or bothering you too much. This getting up in years is tough.

Holy sheets, kiddo! Are you ever gonna stop inflicting injuries upon yourself? You've been quiet for awhile and I had hoped that you have been staying home, eating Bon Bons and painting your nails! Thank goodness you are going to see the good doctor soon! I get the impression that you have had issues with vertigo in the past...what's the reason? Not a good thing to have as we age and get more unstable along the way. I hope you didn't do too much damage this time but I have to assume that since you didn't head for the ER or your surgeon's office right away, things must not be too bad! Don't get discouraged because one of these days that shoulder of yours will be all better! Keep smiling! I am getting ready for a cervical fusion on February 6th and can't say I am jumping for joy as I try to wrap my head around having this done! After a whopping ten surgeries in just the past five years you would think I would just take another one in stride....not quite! LOL
