Beautiful, koala. Thanks very much. You've always done such beautiful pictures for the people here. I just never imagined that the next would be for us.

Thank you all for your caring words, warm thoughts and prayers. Even though we just found out she had cancer last week, we thought we still had months with her, not days.

I wish I had taken more photos of her, but here are a couple:

Here she is when we first brought her home from the Leadville shelter. She is being greeted by John, Steve's grandson. Notice how skinny she was. She weighed just 48 pounds.

She filled out pretty quickly, though, to 66 pounds.

What a beautiful girl. So sorry for your loss of Bella.
She was a very lucky girl to have you take such good care of her throughout her life.
May her spirit live on in you through all of your precious memories of her.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss, aspenleaf. Bella looks so happy and just so loved in that last picture with Steve. The last days of her life were so much better due to your and Steve's loving care.

The first couple days of our trip to Ouray, she was having fun. Then, she just bottomed out. Maybe she got too exhausted. That's how I hope to go, though: feel great, sick for only 48 hours, then let go instead of months of illness.

It just came as such of a complete shock to us.

Steve has always had Boxers since before he was born. Bella has been welcomed into a large pack!
