We are just the opposite, we seem to have less mice this year coming in our garage. And I have not had a single one this year in my kitchen either.
We use the spring traps with the yellow "steps". Since I am a chicken, my husband takes care of throwing the dead mice out for the night creatures. We don't bait the traps. My husband explained that if we put them where the mice are most likely to run, like along the baseboard, they will step on the traps no problem. |

Haven't had an issue for several years. Not so this year!
![]() Have been using Tomcat traps that kill and contain where critter not seen. Pricey since don't re-use. Also got some sonic things that vary the wave length, but don't think effective. _________________ To thine own self be true. Victor makes an electronic mouse trap, one of which I own, that quickly electrocutes them (uses batteries). They're about $20 at Ebay. You can empty the trap by tilting it forward into whatever you want to empty it into, so you don't have to touch the mouse. I used it a couple of summers ago on an outside ground-level deck to kill something like 20 mice. Was killing them at the rate of about one per day. However...I also wound up inadvertently killing a small pine squirrel as well and wasn't happy about that. I've since installed a "filter" fence, if you will, around it, with an opening too small to allow a pine squirrel to enter, but I'm pretty sure a chipmunk could get through. I've also been successful with the standard little wooden traps made by Victor. I bought a large bulk box of them from Ebay so that i could just catch and toss into the garbage without having to re-use traps or touch the dead mice. That's worked really well for indoor use.

I bought four different kinds of traps and caught one mouse.
I balanced a paper plate with sunflower seeds glued to it over a 13 gallon kitchen trash can and caught 22. _________________ "No good deed goes unpunished." - Clare Boothe Luce |

I purchase Glue Traps from Home Depot to catch the Deer Mice that try to enter the garage. The Deer Traps are fantastic!! They catch 2 or 3 Deer mice at a time (however many are running together). Deer mice are deadly if they were ever to bite a dog or cat so I have to bad feelings about use them. The only caveat is that Deer Mice are smart and catch on after a month or so. Then I have to try other things that don't work so well for about week or two; then I go back to using the Glue traps. I've even caught Deer mice over the winter months
