Sounds like Raccoons or Perhaps Ozzie Osborn? I'd put money on Raccoons? Depending on location I have seen a weasel near Moore lumber months ago , Not sure of their Habits either. Good luck, I just looked up how do weasels kill chickens? and sounds like your culprit

I see no signs of raccoon so I think weasel also. I've had traps out but no luck.

Were the heads taken or still laying there?

Thanks for the articles, they are very good. They are sneaky little guys. I never see them. When I put the dead chicken in a live trap they never come back.

So sorry for your loss.
Did this happen during the day out in their run or at night in the barn? Just curious. In either case I would suspect a raccoon. But I guess a weasel is a possibility too. |

Our biggest culprits were 1) Foxes and 2)Raccoons, but 3) Coyotes. Came home one day to find 18 headless chickens in our yard and the rest rather spooked to say the least. Saw the 'coons and foxes at work more than once. Foxes swallow the heads whole and go look for another.
