Seven Creatures With Skills That Easily Beat Humans

Quote:
You think you’re so smart. Well, a wave of research into animal cognition reveals that just about anything you do, other creatures can do too. Sometimes, they can do it far better.

This does not surprise me in the least but I will admit that I was impressed when I read the story about the crow.................

I think the drool at the end was the key. What a good pup!

Years ago we had a border collie that used to fly with us. After about 500' into the climb she'd curl up on the back seat and sleep. When we arrived at out destination she'd suddenly appear between the front seats, how she knew we were there I don't know.
On one occasion we were put on the hold before we could approach, it was night so she had no visual reference. When I started the outbound turn at the outer marker she'd nudge my elbow as if to say "hey AH wrong way", this happened three times. When we were eventually cleared to land and I flew over that outer marker, no nudge.

They're obviously not that clever or she would have worked out that I didn't have clearance to approach!!

The dog looked fine. Guy in the left seat had some wild eyes when it was over. Looked like he wanted to yack!
