Aliy is on her way to Nome!

However, Travis Beals is catching up with her, moving much faster than her and is only 4 miles behind. She probably does not know this. I sure hope he does not pass her. :praying:
At current speeds she should arrive in Nome by about 7:30 - 8pm our time. But once she gets to the flat part she may pick up speed.

Here's a race where sex, age, color, nationality has no bearing on who does well and who doesn't. It's just not about any of that. However, I think it is wonderful that a Native Alaskan (Pete Kaiser is Yupik) won this year and so far 3 women are in the top 10! :applause: :applause: :applause:

Wow! I just watched the video of Jeff King's finish.

He finished with 13 of his original 14 dogs and they looked FANTASTIC!!! Wagging tails, happy, excited, hopping around, and that eager barking/whining, "Don't stop Dad, let's go, let's go, let's go!!!"

After the finish line pomp and circumstance, the team launched out of the shoot like a rocket!
Amazing athletes, after 1000 miles in just 10+ days they still want more!
