Okay. here is another question. I have had this issue before but now it is urgent. There are exchanges I have had with other members that are very poignant and important to me tucked into threads over the years. I want them.

When I click on my profile I have 1322 pages of posts. I can't get past page one to go through these pages and attempt to retrieve what I wish to preserve.

This has happened in the past with other people's profiles in post searches and I got no helpful answers with it and now time seems to be of the essence.

I am melting away!!!!!!

17 posts of mine have disappeared in the last half hour, I hope they are old classifieds because I want my stuff.

Jo, that is part of the problem with the old software and another reason why we need new software. The old is crumbling away and having more and more problems, and it cannot be fixed. It is not supported anymore. If Pinecam does not do something then someday it will all go away completely.

Much care is going into this process.

So are you telling me that it is not possible for me to do a search of my older posts that someone else gets to decide if they have value, and get them myself?

Are you saying I can't, no one can get past page one in the search history?

I'm not able to get past page one of my posts either.

Can my posts be accessed from 'back there' ???

Or am I just [fecal matter] out of luck????

I can't get past that either, and no, Jo, not even "back here". NO one can. This is what it has come to.

Like when I search for my Taffy's thread, it does not come up in a search...I have to pour through the Pet Corner and try to find it.

I know it sucks :( If everything was working right then we would not need a software update and we would go on our merry way.

To me, if it makes the site better, I say erase what ever you want...I do not go back and read what I posted last week, much less what happened years ago...once I comment on a subject, it is done and on to the next one...but I have never been one to live in the past, but that is just me...I know some people are into that, scrap-booking, saving stuff and that is fine, but in this forum with a bunch of post, I can see the need to do a little " purging" of the system would be in order.....good luck and keep up the good work..

What about support threads in Pet Corner that didn't end up in the rainbow bridge or tributes threads?

Please tell me those aren't going to have to be copied and pasted by individuals to be preserved.

Starting to copy Chu-Oui's Journey now, just in case. Although I do hope the BOD can see to keep those 46 pages available. I made several long-time friends--best friends--from that thread. I also learned just how wonderfully kind and supportive PineCammers are! I would hate to lose all of that written history, as well as the support it brings to others that have lost their furbabies.

I was thinking of you in particular when I posted that mc, but there are many other threads in Pet corner that I feel that was about. and I know beachie will guard those.

there is nothing wrong with being forward thinking, and looking. I am sentimental and nostalgic about the time I have spent here over the years.
Not just in Pet corner.

the Living room has 675 pages and if I try to work from back to front there is NOTHING to see on at least the last fifty pages except the current announcements.

If I can not search by accessing my profile and I can not get old threads by being in the Living room and trying to sort through that way then I am feeling pretty dejected. There is stuff on this site that I took for granted would always be here and it is here, we just can't look at it anymore and it is soon to be discarded.

I feel like I have been robbed......

I just hope that threads by members that are deceased are not deleted. Those are special to a lot of people. :)

Nothing like that will be "deleted" but the problem is that it can't be accessed and we simply have no control over that whatsoever.

No one can seriously believe that any of us want that to happen. We are as sick about this as anyone else.
