I’ve not been there since mid 2016. The last visit my breakfast was stone cold, as if it had been in the fridge. Not just lukewarm as if sitting on a kitchen counter. Cheese was sprinkled on my omelet, not even melted. Just out of the package. The server either did not see it when she brought it to me, or did not care. She seemed surprised when I asked her to take my plate back and warm it. So, there ya go, another lost customer.

My last visit was a couple of years ago when I ordered a cold sandwich
without bread and was charged extra for it...

It's no longer on my list of choices up here, for all these reasons.... cold place, cold food, overcharged for making ANY kind of change, overcharged period. Why is a veggie omelet priced different than a meat omelet and a spinach, mushroom cheese omelette the most expensive??? BTW, they used to melt cheese on the omelettes. They were good, just not That good.

We go to Crow Hill Cafe now. Worth the extra minutes driving to Bailey, price is right, homemade bread, toast and pastries, just sometimes slow getting the food. Well worth the wait. The people are so sweet, not argumentative and embarrassed when asked about policy like Aspen Perk's staff.

We loved the idea of a nice breakfast place in the Conifer/Aspen Park area & tried to make them work for the longest time, but everything just kept going down hill. Any meat we got with breakfast ALWAYS had to be sent back because it was cold. Then bacon would be returned so hard & over browned you couldn't eat it. Talked to the owner a couple of times but nothing ever changed. Then there was the issue of all the extra charges for things that usually came with a breakfast order other places, poor service, etc. We just gave up. I honestly don't know how they stay in business.

You summed it up for us as well. It's been years but the last time was THE last. From poor service to blah, mediocre (at best) to cold food and the list can go on and on and on. We have moved but if I still lived there, I guarantee you, I would never step foot in that place again.

I agree, do not know how they can stay in operation. We gave them multiple tries - never, not once, was the experience a good experience - not one time. We did tell management but, just as you said, nothing changed. We gave up as well. We really WANTED to like it but............................

I wish they had gotten their act together, but it was just never an enjoyable experience. It was always a hassle about something & we came out feeling like we had wasted our time going in there to eat.

We had breakfast at Aspen Perk Sat. morning. Very pleased with our food and the service was excellent. Seems like they have seen the negative posts and have improved these issues. Will eat there again soon.

We had a delightful lunch at Aspen Perk yesterday. Hadn't been there in awhile. The potato/bacon/kale soup was excellent and hot. My husband had fish and chips and I had a yummy mushroom hamburger. Fries were excellent (hate to admit I occasionally eat fries). Food was hot and the service was great. Glad we gave them a try again.

Went there this morning for breakfast. Ordered Eggs Benedict. Came out cold. They re-heated. Hollandaise sauce was awful. Couldn't eat it. Waitress was nice enough. Ordered a couples of eggs instead. Just not going back.

In the course of several months, we tried Aspen Perk three times. They were never that busy, but they gave us the feeling we were a bother. On one occasion, the server was yakking it up with the only other table occupied in the restaurant -- apparently friends. The food was nothing to write home about, but edible; however, the ambiance and service was disheartening. Every time I head to Safeway, I'm surprised to see that Aspen Perk is still in business. I think it's a case of the owners/staff not being "people persons." They simply have no concept of friendliness, fun and great service. It's beyond them. Someone else could take over that business and make it the best hangout for mountain neighbors up and down Hwy 285. Unless the day comes that I see a big "Under New Management" sign in their window, I will never cross their threshold again.

After my recent visit to Aspen Perk, I thought about the old restaurant in Aspen Park. There was a vibe there, and I remember going to meetings with different groups of people. I miss that friendly, cozy feeling that the old restaurant had. It wasn't a bar, but was definitely a meeting place.

I couldn't agree more! I've been there several times with groups of 4 or more. Service always spotty, but friendly enough. Food was hit n miss. Mostly miss. Items cold or missing was all too common. Nothing particularly good, but certainly good enough and edible. With just a few tweaks and attention to detail this place could be great hangout. I consider this very average joint as one of those places just waiting to pop. Unfortunately its been years with nothing but deflated experiences. Oh well.
