I know it was mentioned before but I can't find it anywhere. Where is it ok to park? Would it be ok to park at the Loaf-N-Jug at Cty Rd 43 & Hwy 285 and walk to Hwy 285? There is a large dirt area there where they collect the slash. Would that be ok? Or do we have to drive to downtown Bailey and park somewhere there?

Just trying to be courteous, we don't want to park anywhere we shouldn't. Maybe an officer can shed light on this?

I would think it would be OK to park anywhere off of 285 where there are not any 'no parking' signs. Of course, Im no officer.

Some suggestions are in a document on the "Columbine to Canyon" website.

Quote:
Those who wish to praise the Motorcycle Ride as it goes down the 285 corridor:

Please remember that there will be no parking on Highway 285 as the Motorcycles go by. This would break the law.

Places where you can park and stand near the Highway 285:

Pine Junction ? RTD lot would be a good place to park.

Bailey: Town of Bailey. Remember to stay clear of Highway.

Sweet Fanny Adams: They may let you park there and watch too.

These are some examples.

Platte Canyon High School: We MUST KEEP PARKING LOT CLEAR FOR BIKERS AS THEY ARRIVE. This will allow them to park safely. Please be careful and keep largest parking area CLEAR for Bikers.

Try also (not verified)
RTD park & Ride
    Aspen Park
    Green Valley Ranch

I have a lot of trepidation regarding Green Valley Ranch; The construction may, sadly, slow the procession.
King's Valley(good service road parking, dirt lot between Longs and water treatment)

Laz- The green valley ranch is actually Mountain View Park n Ride. I actually think that would be a good spot. The lot is huge, and since traffic is slowed thru that area, it would be a great watching spot. Restaurant and shopping nearby, too.

As I drove down 285 today, there are lots of places that looked good. What about the frontage road by Hog Heaven at the top of crow hill?

I listed lots of other places too. School parking lots (actually the ball fields) at Elk Creek and West Jeff.

How about the new office building across 285 from the old safeway. I think if you drive up behind the bank, you can get to it. They must have a parking lot there and you can look down over 285.

The old school admin building half way down Crow hill.

The old hot dog place cos? Or the new one? Basically if your car is off the pavement I think you are ok. Keep the small children away from the bikes
