I know.. this may sound a little corny... but I'll share anyway.

I met a young man in Trivia Chat several years ago. He was very polite ... more than most. He was criticized when he mentioned that he wanted to join the service. Some thought he was dumb. Well, My husband served... that rankled that some were saying that. So we talked to him privately. And we encouraged him, and tried to support him.

We've kept in touch with him for several years.. when he was going to boot camp, assigned, and finally left for Iraq. The miracles of computers and the tech age.

Well, he contacted me tonight and we talked for some time... he's coming home soon. We talked till his battery went down.

Please keep him your prayers...until he is home... no guarantees. But I am so happy for him , and his family, that he is coming home.

AC-
There's nothing corny about encouraging a fellow human being to
fulfill a dream. Especially if it's a dream to serve, defend and protect our country!
How happy & proud you must be to have been instrumental in this young mans' life.
And how joyful you must feel as his coming home!
In our prayers, for sure- & please keep us posted!
Thanks for sharing!

I too will remember him and his family. I think it is awesome that you and your family were willing to be supportive of this young man and continue to be so.

My nephew has been over 5 times now, and back safely each time (our cup overflows!). There is talk of sending him again. It doesn't seem fair but he is willing to go.

Seems like some people just don't get it. Our troops do. :patriot:

And thank you for your website....

I will indeed keep your nephew in my prayers.

And learned many years ago....life isn't fair, still hard to accept. I guess that we never will understand, well not in this life anyway.

Let's hope he comes home soon to enjoy the freedom and civilization that he has been fighting to preserve. Whether fighting or just avoiding indiscriminate bombing he has been lucky to this point. With a degree of luck we will see a transition of the effort in Iraq from our guys to the locals doing the policing and we can all get back to the life we want. In the meantime, I wish the best to YOUR guy. My guy, my son leaves on November 30 for that area.

RAK my best wishes to your son on his mission. It seems like a lot of Pinecammers have relatives that are serving. Please tell us a little bit about your soldiers. TSAC will be looking to adopt a new unit sometime in the future.
