I know you are not ready to hear this but the Holidays are fast approaching, especially when you try to send Holiday cheer halfways around the world. How does Santa do it all in one night?
![]() We are going to be baking cookies for the troops for Thanksgiving this weekend. If you would like to join us in this bake-a- thon on Sunday at my house please PM me for directions. If you would prefer to make your treats at home, let us know and we will pick them up and include them in our shipment. You can either PM me or email us at TSAC@Pinecam.com. We will be shipping on Wed. 10/19 The mail service to Afghanistan seems to be pretty irregular, so I would suggest that you bake things with a pretty long shelf life. Tillerbee is going to go through the Pinecam cookbook and come up with suggested recipes, or use your own favorite recipes. I think Thanksgiving is a holiday that should have a very special meaning to everyone that supports the troops. Let's show them that we appreciate them ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Let's show them that we appreciate them ![]() ![]() ![]() You are so right about this, Bubbles. I, for one, am really appreciative of what our troops do for us and the very fine job they do. I am thankful they are doing what they do to protect us here at home and I am thankful everytime one of our fine soliders comes home safe and sound. To start with, I've looked in the Pinecam Cookbook. I got really, really hungry looking at all those recipes! Here's some cookie recipes that I think will ship well to the troops and be appropriate for Thanksgiving: Amish Cookies - A yeast-raised cookie that has applesauce in them. Very different! Cranberry Swirls - A cranberry filling enclosed in an orange flavored cookie dough. Fig Newtons - Well, just like Fig Newtons. ![]() Fig Pinwheels - A fig and nut filling enclosed in a brown sugar based cookie dough. Molasses Cookies - These would have a very distinctive taste. Pecan Crescents - Autumn is nut gathering time so these would be very appropriate. I'll be looking through my recipes for pumpkin cookies/bars, more cranberry recipes, applesauce cookies, etc. If you have any recipes for cookies or bars that you think would be good for Thanksgiving, why not add them to the Pinecam Cookbook. It's easy! |

When I think of Thanksgiving, I think of turkey, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce. pumpkin pie, pecan pie, and mincemeat pie. Well, I don't think turkey cookies would be very good
![]() So here's some recipes for bars and cookies that use other traditional Thanksgiving foods that do bake into shippable desserts much better: Apricot Squares Cranberry Squares Date Squares Mincemeat Squares Pineapple Squares Pumpkin Cookies I Pumpkin Cookies II Pumpkin Cookies III Pecan Squares Pecan Fingers Click on a bar or cookie to see the recipe. Don't forget, you can click on "Printer Friendly Version" to get a view of the recipe that you can then easily print. |

The Department of Defense just announced that one of our soldiers from the 503rd were killed on October 9th.
TSAC is committed to supporting our guys, and sending homemade baked goods will remind them that there are people who care and support them. They obviously are facing making the ultimate sacrifice. Help us show these guys that we care. |

These were some of my personal favorite cookie recipes:
Oatmeal Cookies - I especially love these made with chocolate chips. Peanut Butter Cookies - These cookies have a special crunch to them that makes them so special and unique. Microwave Peanut Brittle - My father showed me how to make this and its really easy. The peanut brittle is soooo good! |

Bubbles,
When will you ship the goodies? I can bake some late next week but probably not before. _________________ "We have gentle horses for gentle people, spirited horses for spirited people, and for people who don't like to ride, we have horses that don't like to be ridden" |
