We've been up here since 1997. This is the worst I can remember. We had a gust of 80 and several in the 70s up above the fishing ponds this morning. I have a 6,000 lb. camper and it actually pivoted the tongue jack off a 4x4 and turned the trailer about a foot in my driveway. 8O

Any one else seeing damage or disorder today?

Wow, those winds sound scarry. There is very little wind so far here on the mountain.

I've been here since 1977 and I didn't loose any trees so it's been windier.

We used to have some horseshoe pits and the kids would say you can tell it's windy when you see the stakes shaking.

I have lived up here for almost 26 years...I have seen worse but today was high on the list. It cleared my back deck of almost everything. I was keeping a close eye on the trees close to the house, not that I could have done anything about it now. Kinda wild how how powerful it is. And it scares my dog.

February always seems to be a month with the biggest winds. We had a humongous tree come down in a February wind.

I just mentioned that to a friend a couple weeks ago, "Here comes February and all the wind!" This morning the "Morrison Wind Tunnel" -470 near Soda Lakes- was about as bad as I've ever experienced.

Moved here in 1969 from windy Wyoming and thought it wasn't so bad. But last few years seems a bit harder blowing. Metal patio chairs and large Ponderosas seem to be pushed over now. Of course maybe the tree was weak? But not the heavy chairs. They have never danced across the yard & fell over 8O

The foothills of Colorado are simply a windy place most winters. I've only been here 13 years, but the strongest winds I have recorded have been in December and January. La Nina years seem to be the worst for high winds. This year has seemed pretty average on Conifer Mountain. So far this season I have not recorded a sustained wind above 50 mph.

I didn't think last night's winds were even close to some we had earlier in the season. And overall, the winds have been about the same as usual. One difference I've noticed is we've had more frequent snow, cold, and continuous snow coverage in the past month plus. This has resulted in a lot more blowing and drifting snow than I've seen in the past few years.

i live on the windy side of wandcrest, and i recorded a gust (a very long gust) of 45 mph in the morning. i had other gusts in the lower forties, and the average was running around 35 at one point
I lost a narrow leaf cottonwood - snapped in half (about a 10 year old tree i planted)
another tree blew across wandcrest - county cut it and moved it off the road
a deck pulled away from a cabin up here and it smashed on the ground

i believe this was the strongest wind i've been in, at least that i've measured

Yea, I think we have had more windy days than normal and overall it hasn't been stronger than normal. We just had about an hour the other morning that seemed to be sustained in the 50s and 60s with about four gusts into the 70s and that peak of 80. For the most part we have averaged in the 30s and sometimes 40s, just more windy days than usual and snow on the ground much longer than normal.

It was quite windy last night and through this morning. I've usually had these winds in March; so this is a little different for February.
