I switched an old, small monitor with my TV screen, but it's still showing the old size.

I've tried NVIDIA dozens of times, including their "add new monitor", "use TV for monitor?" options.

MAC? not sure.

Windows 7? XP?

Windows7, right click a bank part of the desktop and select 'screen resolution'.

XP or older, right click the desktop, select properties, and advanced.

both resulting windows are similar, adjust the resolution and test. Do Not select apply unless you are satisfied with the results, if you do nothing, it will revert to the size it was before you started this.

Good luck!

You also might need to go into the monitor's own menu using the buttons on the face or from a remote, and match up size and resolution for that particular input....

The term I should have used is "screen resolution".

I haven't tried anything today.

Around noon, it was fixed.

Don't get me wrong - I'm thrilled that it finally works! :D

But it did it without me. 8O

I guess I got too happy when my monitor fixed itself.

Yesterday, nothing. Tinkered for three hours, nothing.

Lunch.

More tinkering.

Gave up.

(Did I mention that I have three dead bodies in the house, two of which are next to, or under the computer table? The sources of the rotting flesh has not YET been found for removal. :barf:

Evening - tinker, tinker, tinker.

This morning, at least I'm back to where I started - two TV sets in other rooms, and an old, crappy monitor for the computer that does work, just has the old resolution that's harder to work with..

If someone happens to have a monitor they are about to toss (or take to the shooting range), I've love to give it a try.

Thanks for helping me get it back together.. :D

What video card is in your computer? Is it a laptop?

How is it connecting? HDMI? VGA? Something else?
