Haha, I wish I could take credit. My daughter name Bardot and Patrón, my hubby named Wiggles. (aka Princess Patirnce Wigglesworth) Bardot had been a stray the first 2 years of his life and when we got him, he was terribly skinny. (He has gained 10 pounds in 3 years and finally his his ideal weight) So my daughter thought of Bardot, after Bridget Bardot. Since she was so skinny. Patrón was named after the tequila, we all know the puppy phase and my daughter speculated I may need some to get through it! And Wiggles, well she is daddys princess, all puppys require patience, and she wiggles, A LOT! That was all hubby. |

Home from surgery: So far we've counted 18 staples. He won't stop whining and fussing. It's impossible to take him out in a "controlled manner."
But we will get through.

He would not pee when I took him out with the sling, but he did pee all over his carpet. Sigh.
We will get it all figured out, if it kills me. I'm a bit frustrated, stressed, and disappointed right now but that's all to me and right now I need to focus on Patrón. |

He's probably still whacked out from the anesthesia. Poor guy. He's gonna be hurting for a few days for sure. Even in humans, knee surgery is pretty painful. Things will improve everyday. Hang in there and I'm so glad you were able to get Patron his much needed surgery.

Incredibly, he looks a little brighter to me already. Of course I know that's ridiculous, he just emerged from surgery, but maybe just knowing he's been "tended" where it's been hurting, has improved his outlook.
Might want to pick up a package of those waterproof pads for puppy training. Bless you all! hope tomorrow is a little better. |

I guess I had no idea how much emotion I had been holding back. Once Patrón was safely home, I went through a roler coaster ride of emotions. I feel a lot better today. He wouldn't go potty for me again this morning, but he did when I took him out at 3am.
He has never been a dog to do his business while on a leash, so we both have to adjust a bit. He was whining quite a bit at bedtime last night, so my daughter tried laying next to his "rehab area" to see if that would calm him. It did not, so she slept INSIDE his 4' x 4' area with him last night. She is such a good kid. Patrón was her birthday present when she turned 15. She begged me to adopt him, I'm so glad she did. Patrón helped me through my surgery, and I'll help him through his.
