I have sent this to all on my friends list on my Facebook page, I asked them to send it to all of their friends. I asked only to donate if they could and to donate no more than $10 each. If you all will do the same, AL can have the money she needs to pay for the dog and to cover whatever Paypal will charge. Let's try with everything we have to get this done by Oct.1st!!! Are you in? READY...SET...GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The total cost of an Alert Service Dog is $18,000.
From Sunday to yesterday, my blood sugar was between 51 and 350+. That's the major thing that causes kidney disease, eye disease, and nerve damage. I should add that I have Type 1 diabetes, aka Juvenile Diabetes. Only 1/10 of all diabetics are Type 1's, who experience life-threatening, low blood sugar episodes.

Here I am, a couple weeks after being diagnosed at age 14 in 1976.
I look totally healthy, don't I?? My life expectancy was 36 years. HA! -- I am 50 (so far)! _________________ ♪ You must do the thing you think you cannot do. It's kind of fun to do the impossible. |

Thank you for posting all this wonderful information. I've shared it on my FB page and with family & friends. Hopefully if we follow Waltrot's lead and ask those who are able to donate $10, the service dog fund will grow beautifully--I've asked those who are unable to give, to offer a prayer or 'good thought to the cosmos' for this effort. This is truly a big-hearted, beautiful mountain community!

Service Dog Fund Update!
Picking up my mail, yesterday became a very emotional thing for me. I tried to not cry in the post office. I thank you for your cards, words of encouragement, and donations. The new total of donations so far is $1,600.00!!! That leaves "only" $16,400.00 The balance needed for the down payment ASAP is $2,400.00.
