If I change providers, can I use my Qwest PK5000 router with a different ISP?

Probably not. Their accounting and service depend on a MAC address, and if the new ISP looks for a MAC address that is not on their system (the Qwest router), the service won't 'handshake' and won't work. The idea behind it is just like satellite TV tuners.

You have a choice, sell the router to another Qwest customer, or use it as a 'switch', which provides more ports on your network for more pc's, printers and devices that need to get to the internet. If it is a wireless router, use it to extend the reach of your wireless coverage at your place.

The PK5000 is an ADSL modem. It will work with other DSL ISP, but it will not work for non-DSL service.
