The "mayor" campaign was part of a fundraiser for the not successful bid to bring a recreation district to Conifer. I don't think the contest is going on anymore.

I guess the glitches on Thursday and Friday removed my edit.
So here it is again: I know that the Conifer Community Center used to elect a "mayor" for Conifer each year. But since there is no longer a bid for a rec center, I don't think this is happening anymore. I believe it was done as a fundraiser for the rec center. So here is my question....Is there a way we could set something like that up again, with IMHS being the benificiary? Maybe have it cost $25 to submit a pet to be mayor and then charge $5 per vote, the pet with the most votes wins and all the proceeds go to IMHS. I think this would be a great way to raise money for the shelter and my Wiggles wants to be mayor anyway! The "mayor" would have certain duties to uphold. Things like appearances at adoption events, The IMHS dog walk, the Conifer parade, etc... I have emailed IMHS to see if they would be on board with this. |
