Did it always do that?

When the computer reboots, choose the "SafeMode" option. It will run through all the files it is loading. If it stops on a specific file, you found your issue.
Booting through safe mode will usually allow the computer to "behave" itself, if it is going to and loads all the basic drivers so you can at least get to your important files. IT does sound like a power options setting that is allowing the system to hibernate. Some systems (like Compaq and HP) do not like to hibernate. Another thing to check is your BIOS settings, when your computer first boots up it will say "SETUP" or BIOS hit delete or F2......something like that. Go into these settings and make sure any power settings that have hibernate enabled have been turned off. If that doesn't work then you may have to reload the operating system as a last ditch effort. If that does not work....it is a hardware issue.....time to shoot it and put it out of YOUR misery. Good Luck. |
