Tomorrow the planning commission will meet and hopefully vote to send the draft proposal to the county commissioners. There is talk that one employee of the planning and zoning is trying to change critical parts of our proposal. If you saw our proposal and want to see it passed, please make your feelings known. Attend the meeting, send an email or make a phone call to Mark Smith, and/or Tom Eisenman.

Do you have phone numbers for these guys? Can I call them if I don't live in Park County, but do live on the county line (my fence is the county line).
Thanks for all you're doing to keep us updated!

So apparently there is a new guy involved. His Name is JOHN DEAGAN. Don't know who he is or where he came from, but he has decided that he isn't ready to make a recommendation and wants to postpone this to the Aug. meeting. He has not been involved and has not given any notice. I found out by blind luck. You can call Tom Eisenman at 719-836-4203 and Mark Smith at 719-836-4254. Please feel free to bombard them about not listening to the public and changing things on a whim. We did a lot of research before submitting our plan and this is annoying!

Would you mind telling those of us who are not in the know what the proposal involves?

Thank you, blazonabi. Wonder who the new guy is, why he's suddenly involved and has the clout to postpone? Hope Parkco sees the light soon. Crazy...

I happen to know John Deagan and he actually is a pretty nice guy. I would be glad to get involved if someone would first explain what the plan is. I am assuming since this is in the corral that it has something to do with the horse community of which I have always been a part.

I am assuming this topic relates to the arbitrary decision of the Park County Commissioners to only allow a small number of horses (Was it only 2? 4?) on property sized as large as 35 acres. For people who have already invested heavily into their horse properties on previous zoning allowances, the decision creats a financial restraint/burden for any future sale of their properties. I should think that many horse owners would be interested in reviewing the LUR and supporting a change.

And, don't forget to vote! Commissioners get to call the shots because someone votes them in...until they are voted out!
