Would someone please explain to me how this Columbine got to be so HUGE? Especially in the middle of Safeway's parking lot!

I SAW that columbine the other day and thought it was remarkable. I think some colors are stronger than others. In Centennial I have a yellow columbine that is as tall as I am and has been going for years. The blue ones get a foot tall and disappear in a few years.

Yep, it's a beauty!

It's the variety and perfect conditions. I have a Yukon Gold that does not get that big as it gets too much shade and too much water :whistle:
But it is still a long bloomer unless the deer eat them.

Maybe this particular one likes not having the competition of other flowering plants as it would if it were in someone's garden area. It's very pretty. We have to take our beauty where we find it up here.
