Thanks Wiley, I just now figured that one out. I should have finished reading the entire post.

Cat is doing fine. avsgirl21's husband was awesome, risking life and limb (pun intended) getting the cat out of the tree. I'll try to post a better picture later. The cat is a female, and appears to be about 6-9 months old, maybe a little older. She is in surprisingly good condition for having been stuck in a tree for so long. She is a bit thin, but other than that she is fine. She is definitely a house cat, and is very friendly.

We plan on running her by IMHS today, to see if she is chipped. Apparently they are full, though. I have no problem holding the cat for the owner, but if we can't identify the owner, then I need to take her to a shelter sometime in the near future.

Gunny... if you can avoid a shelter for now after her ordeal, please do so. Can you post a picture of her? Where are you located so we can look for notices of missing cats.

Let us know on the chip... hope she has one!

Please post here before taking her to a shelter... someone may offer her a home.

ALSO.. maybe you could change the title of this thread to indicate kitty is safe.

THANKS GUNNY AND AVSGIRL HUBBY FOR YOUR GREAT WORK SAVING THIS KITTY!!!!!

You may want to go door knocking to see if any neighbors have lost her. I am so relieved

Yeah, I don't think so...

1. Folks move up here not to have people knock on their doors.
2. Dogs & Guns
3. If I lose a pet, perhaps I should be the one looking for it.

Don't get me wrong, I am glad the cat is safe and am trying to find the owner. But I am not going door to door, or putting up fliers, etc. That is the job of the person who lost the animal. Nor am I trying to start an animal shelter. I'll keep the cat a few days, maybe a week tops. I have three cats of my own and a dog.

This is avsgirl's husband. If no one comes forward as the owner ans she is not chipped, we will take her and try to find the owners.

I understand. I really appreciate how you never gave up and kept fighting to get that girl down. Thank you so much.

The cat wasn't chipped. I am attaching some pictures in hopes that someone will recognize her. She is EXTREMELY friendly, but a little standoffish toward other cats.

she looks good. When our cat was up a tree for only 3 days, he lost 2 pounds and he had [censored word] himself so it was immediate bath time for him.

Is she eating and drinking OK?

you are the best!!
