ABOUT THE SHOW
About the Show: Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, the
authors of “Once On This Island,” “My Favorite Year,” and
“Ragtime” present this zany, offbeat, and very funny murder
mystery farce about an unassuming English shoe salesman
forced to take the corpse of his recently-murdered Atlantic
City croupier uncle on a week-long vacation to Monte Carlo.
Should he succeed, Harry Witherspoon stands to inherit
$6,000,000. If not, the money goes to the Universal Dog
Home of Brooklyn. The proceedings are sheer lunacy as
Harry comes up against his uncle’s insanely jealous and
legally blind mistress, her much put-upon optometrist
brother and Annabel Glick, a zealous representative from
the Universal Dog Home determined to see Harry’s
inheritance “go to the dogs.”

Summer Camp Classes

Staging Stories – (K-1st grade)
This mini-camp brings a different children’s story to life every day and turns it into a play – right before the young thespian’s eye. Students use their imaginations to create characters and tell stories, while learning basic acting skills. This camp supports creative development and encourages teamwork. Published author, Jon Jon Lannen (“The Giraffe That Taught Me How to Laugh”), joins students one day of camp to perform a special reading of his book and engage in talkback.
Cost: $85.00/session
Teacher: Sara Milbrath
Guest Teacher: Jon Jon Lannen
Session Date: July 9-13
10:00am-12:00 noon
Session Date: July 30-August 3

High School Camp – (9th-12th grade)
This camp is ideal for students passionate about theatre. It caters to the student looking to add to an existing skill set or wanting to explore theatre for the first time. Students are exposed to Shakespeare, Improv, stage combat, stage movement, vocal production, laban efforts, dialects, acting for the camera and more. Special guest, Sue Knudten, offers a unique opportunity for campers – she is teaching a one day workshop on acting for the camera and voice-over work. Another added bonus – students leave camp with auditioning skills, as well as a monologue suitable for high school, college and professional auditions. This advice provides direction for a potential college search and includes information regarding theatre programs in Colorado and across the country. You don’t have to be looking to make acting your major to enjoy this course – but if you are – this camp can give you an exciting head start.
Cost: $250.00
Teacher: Sara Milbrath
Guest Teacher: Sue Knudten

This camp exposes students to different forms of improvisation, with a focus on short form. Improv is a wonderful tool for the dramatic actor, as well as a great form of theatre for those interested in comedy. Students also receive a specialized lesson in long form improvisation. They learn to build characters and create relationships and conflict, all from the organic eye of the actor. The skills learned in this camp are showcased in a full-length (90 minute) show for friends and family. This camp is a lot of fun and gives students valuable tools to perform both on stage and off. One day of camp, a special guest speaker introduces campers to the world of stand-up comedy, including pointers and how to get started.

Using improvisation, vocal production, stage movement and acting exercises, they learn to develop a well rounded character who graces the stage in a final performance the last hour of class. Will Snow White meet Sleeping Beauty, or will Alice visit Mall Land? Find out in this wildly imaginative camp facilitating creativity, confidence and fun.
