Hi Rav......THANKS for answering my question, hopefully you are RENTING
and your endeavor to move will be solved quickly. IF you are a home-owner
the location, price and condition of your home will dictate how QUICKLY
you can move on. IF you are in Bailey, you will STILL have to contend with
foreclosures/short sales (more so than in Conifer,Aspen Park)......I lived on
three acres and 1 acre (felt like 2 tho) and it is NEVER ENOUGH. IDEALLY
the number 5 seems (which it could be 25) like a swell number.......ONE acre
to live one AND ONE acre in EACH direction..... GOOD LUCK
in your endeavor.

Sometimes I get really excited cause I love to say hello and I like to have fun. I am sorry I can not speak to you to let you know how I feel, but please try to understand that people are people and no one is perfect and I should not loose my life or be put in CUSTODY because I and my family are not perfect all the time?" At least that is what I see when I look into my dogs eyes.

That's a lot of words to say your dog is nice. If your nice dog comes by my house and starts attacking me or my family, I will shoot it. I am one of God's creatures too and I have a right to live without a dog gnawing on my leg.

Duly noted. I just figured it would be the right thing to do.

I get a visit from the neighborhood dogs sometimes. Been barked at in my own back yard! It takes a while but I make friends with the dog and it stops barking. Eventually the owner either calls through the woods or drives by and gets the dog. I do not see the need for violence, pepper spray, calling AC, shooting the dog or launching it with a trebuchet!!!

Do you really want to look the owners children in the eyes and say you were the one that shot their best friend? :(

If a vicious dog is attacking me or my family, a stun gun is not going to be an option.is the key and I have never run into a viscous dog, just stupid people.

This will end the threat immediately & permanently and would obviously be followed up with a phone call to law enforcement:

I'm not talking about dogs coming up and barking at me. That happens often. I'm talking about a vicious dog actively attacking. There's a big difference and thankfully I haven't had to deal with it.

I did get bit (nipped) once by the neighbor's dog in their driveway when I was walking over there to talk to them about something. They brought over cookies afterwards... it was all good.

No.. That was a lot of words to try and convey what neighbors might probably should think when finding, seeing one of their fellow neighbors family members lost or confused or a mistake was clearly made. Rather than start to solve the issue with your gun, maybe try to have some compassion for your neighbor. Maybe your neighbors child mistakenly let their loving pet out and could not get it back before running off to VICIOUSLY attack your family geez.

Do you think if a disaster happens around here that the police will be here to help you? DOW? Animal Control? Reverse 911? Or maybe it will be your neighbors that help? The authorities should always be a last resort and that video (5th Amendment), if you can comprehend its true meaning, tells all. The system is not here to help you, that's what neighbors are for. The system is designed to take away rights and to control. By calling police and shooting peoples animals, you are playing right into their hands. So good luck with that attitude towards your human and non human neighbors and I hope after the system finishes ripping you off and enslaving you that they also are there to help you, because your neighbors will not be. Your neighbors won't be able to feed you if you need it, they won't be able to offer you shelter, they will not be able to help you because you got them involved with the system and the system took their rights and took their money. So now your neighbor has no resources to help you. So good luck shooting that gun at dogs and calling animal control. One day you may be looked at as an animal and let's see how that system everyone likes to use helps them then.

All I am saying is that I thought moving up here, I would have community and neighbors. I have found neither. I have found petty people that do not act any different than the Boulderites I tried to escape from.

I saw the cross on the mountain on the way up from 285 and thought, wow.. some people up here must be good Christians and know how to be neighbors.

Give unto Caesar and enjoy it all while you can. While your up here threatening "viscous dogs" the TSA is raping and molesting your family. Where is your bravado and gun when that is going on? Stand up to the real enemy and try to make friends with your neighbors. Soon you will NEED them.

That's all I am saying..

Petty.. I say it again.. Petty, mean, clueless.. Petty.

That's your conclusion of how people react to you completely ignoring the local dog laws?

You ignore the law, unapologetically throw it in their faces, and that makes them petty?

I agree with you. You need more land so you don't have immediate neighbors.

Boy, is this a pet peeve with me. We have some neighbors whose dogs constantly come on our property to use as their bathroom as well as chase wild life. They roam all over the place and if I am out working in a certain area of my property, they will bark and come on MY PROPERTY and confront me. I try to make my stand and I don't think they would bite but do not want to encourage them, either. I am tired of the dog crap. The owners have been asked to keep their dogs off our property, but it seem to fall on deaf ears. Sometimes when they bark too much, the owners call them in. Oh, and we had dogs for many years but they were not allowed to roam or go on other people's property.

Again, a whole lot of words with no real relevance to the topic at hand. You're not getting my point which is very simple: if an animal is actively attacking me or my family, I will use deadly force to end the threat. I don't care if it's a mountain lion, bear, deer, fox, or heaven forbid, even a dog.

I'm done responding to you. It's like playing tennis agains the curtains and I'd be better off banging my head on a sidewalk. :rof laughing:

Tall fences make good neighbors.

Y'know, like a tall fence that can keep your dogs on your own property.
