Excellent and very well-written post, CCWriter. I couldn't possibly agree with you more.

I'm sorry twohawks, but as I keep saying our only concern is for these horses and to me that makes for a great community. All it takes is to release these horses so that they can go to good homes where they are groomed, loved and given the attention that these animals deserve plus plenty of food and water which they were and maybe still are clearly lacking. Any person that loves animals and sees these pictures, how can you wish otherwise? I haven't seen any evidence that these horses were properly taken care of, only evidence that the horses were/are being used for wheeling and dealing for the sole purpose of owner's benefit and obviously these horses weren't worth much to them.
So far, all threats that are being spoken appear to be to the people that love and care for the horses and want to see these horses be removed. |

I am not sure what threats where made to those charged in this case, but I do know threats where made to those organizing the fund raiser in Evergreen and a car was vandalized in the parking area the evening of the fundraiser. There are those who find the need to threaten and it seems to be on both sides. Not just against those charged.
CCWriter thank you for your post. I have stayed out of this for a long time except my previous post on this thread about how ignorance becomes neglect. There is absolutly no excuse for allowing animals to get to the condition these horses where in. Horses only loose weight in winter when they are not provided the basic necessities to stay in good condition. I have had plenty horses in my life reach ages over thirty. I currently have a new horse on my property who cannot thrive on good pasture and water alone. It's been tried and he has now come to live here for the rest of his days and will be cared for like he should be. Does he require more $ to keep him in condition? Certainly and he also requires his mash three times a day to keep his belly happy. He requires more time, $ and work. His human is there for him and has taken the responsibility to keep him well fed and happy even though she cannot ride him. If you cannot do this for animal or human there is no reason you should have the privilege to care for them. Educate yourself. The more you know, the more you will realize you don't know. Just my opinion |

Thank you CCWriter and Ingrid and Joe.
Your posts are calm and factual. I am concerned as I have not heard Twohawks or stevebkb or anyone else who is responsible for the care of these horses make any attempt to reassure the rest of us that these horses are well fed with clean fresh water and adequate vet care. If there has not been any wrongdoing, then stop with the defensive and angry words and show the community that you are responsible and caring humans. TwoHawks....Your posts read exactly like celtichorse's posts. (same grammar and punctuation) Have you simply changed your name? |

And why is it that the horses did better in someone else' s care than Swifts? Especially when he has "experience" and all it required was food???
Why is it okay to let a horse sit in it's own fecal matter,is that a normal human reaction? I would've sent my horse to the vet asap (I am a prior horse owner) What story do we not know exactly? You have a horse that is starving....Someone else rescues them feeds them and they recover, obviously it's the prior owners fault. No medical problems and such...Just food Like I said this person has been known (not only in my eyes,to be mean in spirit) Don't reply Mr.Garcia I refuse to argue as we live on different planets But if you need to King Soopers sells Kleenex |

Even if all other claims by the owners that attempts were made in the feeding and watering of the horses does not explain why any horse would be left to live in those conditions. It also does not indicate to me someone who has the intent to care for the horses properly. Whether the owners did not have the means to care for the horses properly or simply did not care, the horses should be in the care of someone who cares and has the means to take care of them properly.

We have nothing to argue about. You don't know me and you don't know my heart in all of this. What a mindless thing to say. Didn't know anyone's 'spirit' was a matter of law in this. There are some that have actually had reasonable discussions privately with me. Thank you. There are some that actually understand where I stand on this. But this isn't about me. It's about the day in court which can't come too soon and hopefully where justice will be served, or served as well as is possible in light of everything. |

What you wrote CC Rider is so very well put.
I want to make sure that everyone knows that Ron Swift is only the caretaker at Echo Valley Ranch he is not the owner of the property, and I know this for a fact. Ron Swift needs to be fired and have all horses taken away from him forever. And Steve baby it appears that you seem to hate anyone that believes in God. I feel so sorry for you. _________________ We call them dumb animals and so they are for they cannot tell us how they feel, but they do not suffer less because they have no words. This is about what each persons rights are in this country under the Constitution.I wont play the guessing game of who everyone is on this thread. It wont matter how it turns out ,know one here well happy with out come.I do not need to defend myself but well stand up for others rights under the law.It is sad that you cannot defend others without the word games played out in this thread.Well wait and see what happens and stand by my principles.
