Moonrise on Saturday will be at 7:54 pm.

the harvest moon is the September full moon - it rises just as the sun is setting (around 6:30) and therefore extends the amt of time the farmers can be in their fields - harvesting - their crops
(was that the question, or was it something else? that was WHY it's called that, not what causes it to be so big and bright? - ) |

Great...I have a horrible time sleeping during a normal full moon. Perhaps I will sleep all day Saturday and stay up and howl all night...
