Adult mountain lion seen in Will O Wisp. Be Careful!

Don't let your kids wonder without supervision and pets run loose.

A young lion has also been seen near Wandcrest --- so these two could be part of a family.

This should be a common mantra, not just when mountain lions are spied. They only become seen when they don't care about being seen. You just cannot predict when one will be in your neighborhood.

Where exactly in WOW? Down by the big pond or up by the IREA access road.

:exactly: I am still amazed at all the posts that keep coming up about this. I don't share in the fear that others have of the wildlife that we so choose to live amongst nor will I ever participate in teaching or creating fear when it is unfounded.

well I tell you I have lived up here for 30+ years, I have had encounters before, but when your property is all fenced in and you can't walk from your house to the car for fear of the cat that seems to be hanging around, it's un-nerving, she has been shot at with rubber bullets, hit with a rock and she still hangs out not 20 feet from your doorstep, you might think differently! We are house bond due to this, grandson is afraid for grandpa that keeps going out there. She is not afraid of people very unusual. So no more "you live in the mountains". I know that. I know we want a "good cat", but this one is young and not learning.

Well, I for one, appreciate the posts because I like to be informed. It's about getting specific information that might be helpful to others out there. It doesn't have to be an issue of fear. If I see posts elsewhere that annoy or bother me, I simply stop reading them. Thanks for info and I'd also be interested to know the intersection on Wandcrest that this specific cat has been hanging around. Near 285 or down near Wandcrest Park?

I, too, appreciate the posts. I agree with using caution all the time, but if one is seen that does not seem to be afraid of people, this could be of greater concern than normal. Thanks for the posts about this. Information never hurts.

I think your concern is valid. This cat needs to be relocated or, worse case, shot dead. It has obviously become very accustomed to hanging around humans and that is not a good thing. The fact it can't be scared off easily is even more of a concern. Yes, we live in the mountains and we accept that local wildlife is part of the deal. But when wildlife 'threatens' our security, well, that's why we're on top of the food chain.

It's unfortunate we have encroached upon and made such an unhealthy impact on the balance of nature. There is no single person to blame. All our hands are bloody. Good luck with removing kitty.
