Isn't it worrying that this happened in Europe recently?

Buh humbug. The FDA is just looking out for you.

And Abby, I have friends who went to take herb classes so they could make their own supplements in Europe. Indeed shocking. What's next? They allow GM/GE?

Some supplements have proven harmful over time. Others have been abused. Many have been shown not to contain the claimed active ingredient, but I believe that free people have the right to decide for themselves.

As you say GM foods are permitted, but heaven forbid you should take a herbal supplement that has been around for years.

Follow the money.

they don't make as much $$$ with natural herbs, vitamins, and minerals. the "big pharm" gets rich at sick peoples expense. it's a bunch of crap if you ask me! i take vitamins daily and have for years, and guess what...i hardly get sick. hmmm...imagine that! the only chemical meds i take are for pain, but if i could find a natural replacement, those would be gone as well. our govenment wants to control EVERYTHING we do, so this is NOT suprising at all.

And Big Pharm also has the $$ for lobbyists and payoffs to politicians so they can have the natural supplement industry squashed if they feel it is cutting into their territory a bit too much. They've been working on doing that for awhile now, but mostly on a state by state level. Also want to kill medical marijuana for the same reason. If you think the government wants to control everything, you need to remember that people are the government, so who is controlling them? Anyone with the money to pay them off/donate to their campaigns. Think big corporations and the 1% when you think big government.

He has a disclaimer on the blog and apparently clearly states throughout that he designed the diet etc for himself. This seems like the state trying to squash his right to free speech. I doubt the state hires people to peruse blogs for this stuff. Somebody with an economic interest tripped on it and starting hounding the state, is my guess.
