I was at an Alco in Burlington. Takes the place of Wal-Mart, but smaller. I was glad they were there because I got what I needed.
We don't have a place where we can pick up towels and such in a pinch. _________________ One's philosophy is not best expressed in words; it is expressed in the choices one makes.--Eleanor Roosevelt |

Also glad of the ownership change at the Marketplace. They seem to want to bring that strip mall back to life, 3 local businesses are slated to return there as well. And the new owners actually seem to WANT to clean and fix the place up so others will rent there.
Who are the 3 local businesses slated to return there? Well I guess my posts post even with the error. Last edited by serenity on Mar 15, 2012 10:33 am, edited 1 time in total. |

Maybe the "Old" Safeway Marketplace could teach the "New" one some lessons!

You could be right but we could hope more of the depletion comes from "Down there" instead. |

gsellers is right...the Buena Vista Alco is admittedly quite a ways from the Conifer/Bailey corridor, but the BV Alco has a pretty good selection of fishing hardware (spoons & spinners, line, hooks & floats...not many dry flies) should you be headed out fishing upstream from the 285/24 'T'....they are sometimes as inexpensive as WalMart, sometimes even more so.
I always try to do business with 'the little guys' in the merchandising world...not always strictly 'cost-driven'. |

the new owner is reported to be a real person, involved in local community, and fair. Rumor is that Busters will be moving back to their old spot and take over the old liquor store spot as well. Knit Knook is moving over in June as well as the spa place. |

Busters, Keller Williams, the spa place, and Knit Knook will be moving to the Conifer Marketplace that I know of. I think it will be nice for the place to get rid of the name "old safeway" and be referred to as Conifer Marketplace.

Yea, I kept saying we needed a Target or Walmart type store only smaller. I can't wait. When is it supposed to open?

Wow! just seen this post. I remember back in the 50s and 60s down in Littleton there was a Duckwall! Back then they had a little hamburger and soda jurk area there was even one in Englewood when Cinderella City opened up. My Grandpa use to take me to the one in Littleton for a chocolate soda after school. That brings back some really old memories. Good to see they are coming up here after all these years! Welcome home to the heart Colorado Alco!
