I have a Qwest wireless modem model PK5000 that I bought at best buy for under a hundred dollars. It's never skipped a beat.

I recently purchased a Netgear N300 wireless modem/router. Works well.
One word of advise with Century Link. Call customer service if you buy a new one, they will send you a shipping label to return the modem. Make sure you follow that package online with the UPS website. Print the delivery confirmation and retain it. I had to call Century Link when I kept getting rental fees and give them the UPS tracking number to stop the charges. Also got a refund of the inappropriate rental fees. |

I just set up new DSL with Century Link and used the modem that I had been using with my Earthlink DSL. The modem is a ZyXEL PK600 series.
Century Link told me that this model was not on their "approved" list. The technicians at Century Link tried but could not help me configure the modem so they gave me the information that I needed and the telephone number to ZyXREL. The modem is working fine. What you need to setup your modem is: 1. Your Century Link user name and password - your current modem is using them. 2. the VPI and VPO that your current modem is using. For me, the VPI=0 and VCI=32 works. If you are using a modem attached to a wireless router or directly connected to your computer and want to look at your current modem, try putting 192.168.1.0 into your browser. If that doesn't work, try 192.168.1.1 You should get the modem setup with either of these two IP addresses. If you don't, try attaching your DSL modem directly to your computer with the ethernet cable and using your system info to find the modem IP address. Good luck, you don't need to use Century Link's modem. |

I have a newish (within the past 18 months) Qwest modem/wifi router that you can have. I've moved out of Qwest's serviceable area, and I'm using satellite internet.
I don't live in Pinecam land anymore, but you could pick it up from me in Golden if you're interested. |
