I'll send a small check to help with shipping. How about you other folks out there who don't live in the area?

I ran across this site, I was pleased that these HS students are supporting the troops with books.

Quote:
Support Operation Paperback
Ms. Yaschik, Room 109, is collecting donations through April 20th.

Operation Paperback is a non-profit, all volunteer organization which provides troops with gently used reading materials. Some favorites are military history, crime, science fiction, mysteries and anything by
Clancy or Griffin.

Please, our troops deserve quality books; donate only gently used novels, nothing worn, torn and falling apart. These books will travel a long way and through many hands.

This is from Sand Creek HS in the Springs

Another Shipment Left Today

Thanks to you, gracious and generous Pinecammers, another two-box shipment was mailed to Afghanistan today. We the organizers of this effort, cannot possibly thank you enough! This makes the fifth consecutive month that we have been able to send to our troops the goodies and toiletries that they both need and crave. Your steadfast contributions of goods and postage have and continue to make this possible.

We all wish our brave and self-sacrifycing troops could come home today. This, of course, is not in the offing. So for as long as it takes and for their benefit alone, we will continue this drive until they have all returned to us safely.

Thank you, Pinecam and the Mountain Communities. You are as true to your words as you are to your convictions.

A short note to Thomas:

Another shipment headed your way, Tom. Look for two boxes (one large, one small) that left this morning. They contain a combination of books, clothing items and the usual goodies. As always, if there are any particular items you would to see in future shipments, please don't hesitate to let us know.

Hope you and the troops are doing well. God Bless. We back here will keep you in our prayers.

Actually, I had been watching for something like this. I sent a couple of boxes of goodies to the troops during Desert Storm I. Count on me for more in the future.

I would Knight you, Good Sir, but I had a slight twitch in my hand the last time I tried and sadly beheaded the Hero of the Realm ... [sigh] ... such are the tribulations of royalty. :patriot:

Fear not, dear fellow, the cad of which you speak is the Knave of the Realm and thus protected by my grace [not to mention Her Highness's insistence]. Seems the wretch enjoys the Ladies' eyes.

But enough of this balderdash. To the topic, I thus ye command!
