Pinecammers,

I communicated with Doc last night. Jae "Moony" Moon, SGT 21 years young, formerly of the 1st 506th was wounded by an IED and died on Christmas Day.

Additionally, with him was Dan Jackson, and we just found out Alan "Woody" Wood are in critical condition with severe wounds to both of Their legs. They are currently in transit to Germany to evaluate if Dan will be able to keep his leg(s).

Please pray for All.

Regretfully,
Army Dad and Mom

Yep
We met Doc and a lot of the other Baker boys at the picnic and other events. I realize they have been reassigned to other units.
However they are Brothers in Arms.
It doesnt matter if we have met an individual or not. I mourn the loss and the injury.

I am out of tears, will a simple sigh of sympathy do? prayers and thoughts never run out.

Tell Doc I wish him Strength and Courage, and Thank Him

I also wish you and Army Mom strength

Yes... a simple sigh will do. Like you Ann and I are out of tears not because we don't care... Because if we let go, we'll go nuts. 3 tours, 3 frightening years before it is over for Doc. If he wouldn't have been stop lossed and extended for a 5th year, he would have been home for Christmas.

Nothing on our plate compares to what the Baker Boys that are left and over there are going through.

Regards,
Army Dad
and
Thanks on behalf of Doc and the ex "Baker Boys" still in harms way.

Soldier dies after assuring his father
Sergeant succumbs to bomb injuries on Christmas Day
Mayor scrambles to combat snow
By Hector Gutierrez, Rocky Mountain News
December 28, 2006
Young Moon received one of the best Christmas gifts a father could receive from a son stationed in Iraq.
His son, Jae, had been badly wounded by a roadside bomb on Dec. 14 while helping direct a patrol in Baghdad, but on Christmas Eve a relieved Moon heard his son's voice on the phone

May God bless and keep the other Baker Boys in the upcoming year.
So very sorry to hear of the loss of Moon and Jackson's injury. Hope that Jackson's rehab goes well this coming year and that he can rejoin his life.
Gotta be difficult for Doc, it could have/would have been worse except for him, he needs to realize his help and value to all the guys.
Thanks to all over there. We have several nephews and our son in service right now. :USA:

My prayers to the families and fellow soldiers. My mere words cannot express my thoughts, but I pray for you regardless. Such sadness.

Dan Jackson and Alan "Woody" Wood are back at FT. Carson. Both Severely wounded during Christmas are now in healing and rehab mode.
Jackson, while badly wounded was able to keep his limbs. Needless to say though they will be in rehab for some time.

We are just glad they are back and safe.

Spoke with Doc and sends his regards and thanks for your support and concern. All of them served together with our former adoptees the "Baker Boys" of the 1st 506th in the Sunni Triangle between Ramadi and Fallujah. They are now part of the 2/12 2nd BCT. at FOB Falcon near Baghdad.

Welcome home Men! :wavingflag:

Regards,
Army Dad :multi:
