TSAC News
As TSAC begins it's second year, we've made some changes to our organization and plan to file as a non-profit 501(c)3 organization with the IRS.

Bubbles served as our Chairman last year and did a fine job leading the committee through it's inaugural year. Thank you Bubbles for your time and efforts this past year!

However, through our first year experiences, we realized that one person serving as chairman for TSAC has a complicated, time-consuming job. TSAC, therefore, decided to have a Co-Chairmanship for the leadership of the committee.

Mylz2go and Mtnmed have been elected as Co-Chairman of TSAC. The entire committee looks forward to working with both as our Co-Chairmen in the coming year.

We also realized that we needed to organize our activities into subcommittees whereby the subcommittee members of a particular task concentrate their efforts on that task. We created the following subcommittees: Events, Publicity, New Troop Adoptions, and Non-Profit Status. As the year unfolds, we may add and remove committees as we find our organizational needs change

Non-Profit Status
On the monetary side of our activities, we determined we could gain the following benefits by applying for 501(c)3 non-profit status with the IRS:
 • Personal contributions to TSAC would qualify as a deduction on income tax returns.
 • TSAC would be eligible for matching funds from employers.
 • TSAC would have the ability to apply for grants and other public or private allocations available only to IRS-recognized, 501(c)3 organizations.
The Non-Profit Status subcommittee is hard at work writing the bylaws required by the IRS for the 501(c)3 status. We'll keep you all informed as to our progress.

As always, TSAC members thank you, our mountain community, for your support to our organization and, most importantly, your generosity to the men and women serving in our military overseas. We have enjoyed staging our events and sending out shipments of goodies and letters to the troops. We hope to have as successful a second year as we did our first. THANK YOU!!!
