I wasn't sure where to post this so Thank You 2wlady for starting this
thread. This video clip is making the rounds of our office today & it
brought tears to many eyes. I'm sorry I'm not computer saavy enough
to link directly to the video but here is the address:
www.zippyvideos.com/128357934402565.html
It is titled "Quiet Commercial". I'm not a fan of Bud beer but I admire
them for making a commercial that is not about selling a product.

Please take a moment today to say Thanks to our troops past & present.
It is the very least we can do for all they have done for us.

Happy Veterans day to you all as well, and Happy 230th Birthday to all the other Marines in the area as well. We had a cake cutting ceremony at work yesterday for the Marine Corps birthday. It's nice to have enough Marines at work to still keep up the tradition.

Everytime I look at the flag that draped Daddy's coffin is Veterans' Day for me. Thanks to all of you who wore or wear our country's uniform.

I'm trying to figure out where the appreciation for Veteran's Day is in the schools. My stepkids in Littleton had school today....but they didn't have school on Halloween.

Thank you for your courage Vets, you are all appreciated!!!

Some schools do take time to appreciate our veterans. I went to the Veteran's day assembly at FMS today and was moved by the respect and admiration the young people had for the vets in attendance (most from the local VFW post).
One moment that especially moved me came while they were asking the veteran's of each war to stand. When they got to the current war on terror, there were two men who stood, one was a gentleman in full Air Force uniform and the other was a "kid" that was sitting in the bleachers, probably someone's older brother. After they stood, the WWII vets instigated a standing ovation and then saluted these two heroes.

At this point in my life I regret the decision I made many years ago to not serve our nation and want to express my gratitude to all of those who did make that sacrifice. :patriot:

Thanks to all veterans, active and retired. It seems like ages ago that were were riveted by the saga of Jessica Lynch and her rescue during the early stages of the war. You, and all who have served our country, are heroes in my book. For those of you who follow such things, I'd like to draw your attention to the unsung hero in the Jessica Lynch story, who worked at Fort Carson after coming home from the war. God bless you Patrick Miller.

Godspeed to those who have gone before and those who represent the United States of America now.

Treeman,
Sounds to me like you answered bdogsgal question, sounds like a good assembly. I wish we could get the kids involved in supporting the troops in this war, or just being aware. As you said the one guy looked like a kid that was someones brother. These are tough times but being aware of what is going on is a part of our existence as Americans

My granddaughter didn't know what troops or soldiers were (she's almost 5) guess that's not really a bad thing at her age, but still... She liked doing the ornament for the tree!
