A couple of weeks ago TSAC was contacted by On The Move Fitness about collecting a special donation for TSAC.
This last Monday, November12, we went to their shop at 26367 Conifer Road, Unit B, to pick up what was earlier said to be three boxes and some cash.

Talk about "mind boggling" when we got there and found about 10 LARGE boxes and several bags of AMAZING items for the troops in Afghanistan!
Plus...a wad of cash and checks! :usa:
Owner Deb Brown met us and helped us FILL THE BACK END OF MY SUV and still have to put a large box in the middle seat!

Mrs. BGR had to mop up tears that leaked out when she saw all of the high quality and most desired items the troops had asked TSAC to try to provide!

Our Chinook helicopter unit will be overwhelmed when they get these wonderful items.
They will have plenty to share with the outlying remote bases they visit with supplies and essential items.

Here is Deb on the deck in front of her shop.

She and her clients are wonderful and incredibly generous in giving to support our troops!
TSAC really is not sure how to thank them enough - but we are humbled and proud to have them in our community!

Yes, absolutely wonderful of On The Move Fitness and her clients. Will the items get to the troops by Christmas?

I know I speak on behalf of everyone here at On The Move Fitness when I say thank you for giving us this opportunity to help out in some small way. We feel honored and fortunate to be able to help our troops and have the utmost gratitude for what they do day in and day out. We will be making this a yearly tradition every November for as long as the need exists.

Kind Regards,
Deb (and Dave!) Brown

Is there any way you can post a list of items desired or needed?

Please refer to this list (link) to a "stickie" in this forum:
http://www.pinecam.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=80&t=46548

Items that DO NOT ship:
Canned or glass bottled vegetables/fruits/etc. (breakage and spillage are big Postal "NO-NOs.)
Any PORK product.
Items that are mostly "air filled" such as potato chips, popped popcorn. (Shipping is too expensive to fill Flat Rate boxes with "air".)
Hardbound books.
Religious of sexually explicit materials as they will offend native Muslim faithful.

We are now accepting Ramen as the individual packets can be crushed slightly in packing and they still make good soup that way.
(We will use Ramen "NO PORK please" to fill small spaces along with other heavier items.)

We ship limited numbers of magazines (news, sports, science, outdoors, etc,) to "top off" the last bit of space in boxes - usually 3 to 6 to a box or so.
Please send issues older than 1 to 2 years to recycle as that is what we do when issues are so outdated.

Thank you for asking as it is important to consider troop needs and wants.
They have basic food supplies so "goodies" have to come from outside sources like US!
I encourage you to PM me if you have specific questions as it may not be intuitive when you don't pack boxes very often.

BGR/Mike
