Do any of you remember wearing the silver bracelets with a POW/MIA soldiers name on it?

I think I got mine in 1972 and wore it for 7 or 8 years
Although I quit wearing the bracelet I never forgot the name of the soldier.
At some point I was sent a blue star that symbolized that "my guy " was deceased, remains not found

I was shocked the other day when I saw a DoD release announcing the recovery of remains of Col Gregg Hartness. I always have wondered what happened to this man.

His plane crashed his co pilot survived and his family buried him 37 years.

Did you have a bracelet, and do you know the out come
?

Anyone know if and/or where they would be doing these for Iraq war soldiers? I've been thinking about doing this, but haven't yet. Don't really know where too anyway. Thoughts? Comments? Suggestions? Snide remarks?

Not in this forum! But for a suggestion - do a search for POW bracelets - probably a lot of info out there!

I had one. It was for a Lt. Col. Can't remember his name. My bracelet broke, but for a good reason. He came home!

First you might want to find out if there are any MIA's out there.

Henry, I'm not talking about bracelets for the MIA soldiers specifically. I meant more like the bracelets that were out during 'nam and such that were for soldier's in general as a reminder to pray for that soldier. Then, you watched to see what happened to your soldier, came home, DIA, MIA, POW, or what? So, I was hoping to get something like that for the Iraq war soldiers. Anyway, just wanted to clarify.

I'm pretty sure that the bracelets Pinecam/TSAC were exchanging for donations can be personalized for a price. Pacamom ordered these for TSAC and she should be able to get you the link to the manufacturer. Getting the name of a soldier presently serving there should be relatively easy as well.

Magnet america is where the bracelets came from. They can be personalized, but there is a set up charge.

The first site listed looked impressive. The second site listed is a list of vendors that you can get all sorts of items. Some personalized, some not.
