Park County commissioners approved eight revocable license agreements June 28 with business owners on Front and Main Streets for Prunes and Rupe StoryWalk®, a Fairplay Library project.

Library Manager Pat Shepard told The Flume that StoryWalk®, a registered trademark, uses actual pages from a book to construct sequential storyboards, so people can follow the storyboards around an area and read the book.

Shepard said StoryWalks® are in 48 states and several other countries.

“Of course, the logical book selection for Fairplay is Prunes and Rupe by Lydia Griffin, illustrated by Judith Hunt, and published by Filter Press,” Shepard said.

She said Filter Press, based in Palmer Lake, Colo., gave permission to use the book and will have copies available for purchase during Burro Days at the library parking lot.
