Hi all! My family is closing on a house on Conifer Mountain sometime in the next couple of weeks. We lived in Boston for the past five years on a 36' sailboat- year round, with a little boy who is now 7. I'm hoping we're the right kind of crazy one needs to be for winter mountain living. :) We are looking forward to the quiet and space of our new home and we're very excited to be a part of the community.

Welcome! Of course you know, you will never get that sailboat past the switchbacks.

Don't be silly. They're going to sail it up the creeks.

Welcome! The mountain is awesome.

I will get slammed for this, but I wanted you to be aware. It is anything but quiet here. I love dogs as much as anyone, but we shouldn't have to hear dogs barking ALL the time.

As a former east coaster, I can attest that living here is much better. The people are much friendlier, the air is dryer and more comfortable, cost of living is lower, and there’s no shortage of eye candy. You get real wildlife, easy commutes, and a sense of space. We’ve had some good offers to move elsewhere since we got here, and the bottom line is we’re not leaving. Too much to miss if we did.

Welcome to the mountain. There are tons of families with kiddos your son's age up here, including two families that I know of from Boston. :) Feel free to contact me and ask any questions about schools, activities, mountain life...

Y'all are going to LOVE it here. I am an ex-ARMY Brat and have moved all over the place. This is the ONLY place I know where you can wake up, look at the scenery, and NEVER regret why you moved here. Happy to have you here :)

Welcome to Pinecam! :)
I'm sure when you get settled in you'll want to check out your local library, located just inside Conifer High School!

Thanks everybody! We're very excited. Closing was supposed to be this week but we had the well tested and the recovery rate was only .14 gpm. The seller is having it fractured but the guy she is using has been out of town. Closing has been pushed back until the work is done. So we're sitting here doing a bunch of thumb twiddling and staring at our packed boxes. Can't wait to get up there!
