It didn't take long for abuse of the red flag law to become obvious. The perfect tool for leftist grudges. In Florida:

"As the report reveals, there are two counties in the panhandle where authorities have only issued one red flag order for every 100,000 residents. Nine other, mostly rural counties, have issued none at all since the law took effect. But at the other end of the scale, multiple counties have issued one for every 5,500 residents. One other (Highlands County) issued one for every 850 people living there."

The Democrat ideal-guilty until proven innocent-at your own expense, even in cases of mistaken Identity.

"To be clear, Red Flag laws work by giving the government the power to confiscate someone's firearms before charging them with a crime. Under the law, someone has to actually break the law in order to lose their right to keep and bear arms. It is the government's responsibility to prove that guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. But with Red Flag laws, police and prosecutors can now disarm innocent people without ever even needing to charge them with a crime."

"Colorado’s red flag is back in the news after an inmate in the Weld County jail attempted to file a red flag extreme risk protection order against Sheriff Steve Reams and staff, claiming that the fact that deputies carry shotguns while patrolling the jail is intimidating, and an abuse of inmates’ rights.
Leo Crispin had his request tossed out by a judge before a hearing was granted, but the case is another demonstration of how the new law is being used to try to game the system and harrass others."

He must not have been protecting leftists. BTW, it wasn't hollow point, but I guess it was close enough for a state run by Democrats.

"'Roosevelt Twyne, who’s black, is a 25-year-old security guard. He was arrested by police during a traffic stop related to his tinted car windows.
During the stop, Twyne was erroneously accused of illegally carrying a firearm and being in possession of 'hollow-point ammunition.' He uses both for his job as a security guard."
