Once a month? So Whole Foods is selling meat that might be more than a month old from packaging? Kinda makes a Big Mac sound fresh.

RMF, I've been thinking about that too. As I placed the order, it is clear the meat has been frozen and it got me wondering if all the meat we get at Whole Foods, or most of it, has been frozen first. I may now have to ask them the next time I'm in there.

Here is what I received:

Hello there folks,

Happy Spring to you! . The snow is a bit of an inconvenience at times but all of this lovely moisture will make for delicious pasture and the KW Farms cows are thankful.
If you would like for us to bring a bit of scrumptious grass finished beef your way this Saturday, 5/7, please place your order on our website at http://www.kretsingerbeef.com/ by noon on Thursday 5/5.
Our delivery sites and times are as follows:

May 7,2016

Bailey -9:30 a.m. Bailey Post Office

Denver - 11:30 a.m. 3268 Utica St.

Boulder - 1:00 p.m. 3405 Penrose Place

Thank you for your business.
(s) Kretsinger

We are attending the wild fire event at the High School, but will have a friend pick up our order. Time to get stuff for grilling this summer.

It's almost meat time again! The KW Farms organic beef (grass fed), pork and lamb is coming up from the San Luis Valley on Saturday, June 25. To order, visit the web site at http://www.kretsingerbeef.com/ or go to the homepage for more information if you are new:

http://www.kretsingerbeef.com/p/home-page.html

June 25, the delivery date is also Bailey Day so the meat will NOT be delivered at the post office in Bailey. Instead John will bring it to the Dozier/Allstate office building on Park Co. 43. The parking lot should be free. To get there you turn west at the stoplight at the Loaf and Jug at the top of Crow Hill. Everybody should know that light. The building is the first building on the right as you drive west - 460 Park Co. 43. Look forward to seeing you there. PM if you have any questions. It's grilling time and we are in for steaks and ground beef. They have so many yummy products.

OOPS!!!
Just received the following:

NOTICE: Due to technical difficulty, our June 25 deliveries to Bailey, Denver, and Boulder will be postponed until Saturday, July 2. I apologize for the inconvenience and hope this will still work for those who have already placed orders. Renee will be in touch with you to find out your status on this.

Our July 2 times and locations:

Bailey - 9:30 a.m. Back at the Post Office

Denver - 11:30 a.m. 3268 Utica St.

Boulder - 1:00 p.m. 3405 Penrose Place

Details: Just as we were about to pick up meat from the butcher both fan motors in the walk in freezer became inoperative. These are German made parts, which luckily we'll be able to get through a U.S. distributor.

Thankfully, my sister Molly and her family were here visiting and pitched in to help. We formed a brigade, passing boxes of meat out of the walk in to chest freezers, filling every inch. We saved everything of greatest value, making some sacrifices - namely all the hog and sheep heads that lined the top shelves. These my great nephew Collin and I tossed in the dump, making something of a game, like hogs' head softball/bowling.

Collin lives in Arlington, Texas, a senior in high school next year, and is spending the summer with us on the farm. He is a bright, funny, strong guy whose first contribution was to help turn a pretty stressful event into a positive endeavor - just by his focus, frame of mind, and physical endurance.

Thank you for your patience. It is experiences like this that bolster our sense of gratitude for our customers and those around us who pitch in to make things work - family and friends!

Sincerely,
Trudi Kretsinger

Kretsinger meat order time again. Today is the deadline but there is some news for those who have already ordered. You still have time.

Just a friendly reminder to get your orders in by this Thursday 10/27 for delivery to Bailey at the post office at 9:30 a.m.

You can place your order here:
www.kretsingerbeef.com

They will again have a full stock of pork and lamb so if you have already made your order and want to add to it, that is just fine.
