...STRONG WINDS EXPECTED THROUGH THIS EVENING...

.A fast moving Pacific system will bring strong winds as it moves
across Colorado. The strong winds will spread across the Front
Range and adjacent plains this afternoon. The strongest winds
across the plains will be along I-25 and along/north of I-76. Those
winds across the plains will then weaken this evening. However,
even stronger winds will be possible across the foothills during
the the evening hours, only to decrease later tonight.

...HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM MST THIS
EVENING...

* WINDS...West 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 85 mph. The strongest
winds will occur through this evening.

* TIMING...through 10 pm MST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Areas of blowing snow restricting visibility,
especially at higher elevations. High profile vehicles will be
susceptible to dangerous cross winds. Possible power outages
caused by downed power lines. Fire danger will be high in the
foothills so no open burning today.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Strong winds may lead to property damage. Hazardous
driving conditions due to powerful cross winds will pose a
serious risk for drivers, especially for light weight and high
profile vehicles. Loose outdoor items should be brought inside or
secured properly.
