Has anyone else noticed the trash that is starting to accumulate along 285 in Aspen Park, especially at the turn in to the King Sooper's center from the southbound lane? The majority of it looks like King Sooper's and Safeway plastic grocery bags. The businesses along there should show some pride in their neighborhood and either hire someone to pick it up or "Adopt-A-Highway" and get some of there employees out there and clean it up. After all, they are making money doing business along there that a lot of the trash is an indirect result of. The Conifer Chamber of Commerce could also step and show some pride in Conifer and help clean it up. Its not that hard. I do it all the time in my neighborhood, picking up other people's trash along the roads.
Am I expecting too much?

Want to help?
The businesses did not put the trash there, people did.
Show some class and take pride in your own community and volunteer to help clean it up.
JMHO....

stecat, I guess you didn't bother to read my whole post before your blood pressure went up. I said that I pickup trash in my own neighborhood all the time. Besides, the Supreme Court ruled that corporations are people (Citizens United) and some of those businesses are corporations.

I read your post about you helping out in your neck of the woods...so do I. Want to help of just complain? I will meet you there on Sunday at 9:00 AM to pick up trash. Not my neck of the woods either but my community overall.
The businesses provide work for the community up here, provide a source of income for our people....I don't mind helping.

It would be a great thing is someone were to organize a community pick-up day
A lot of trash is going to show up because it's been buried under the snow throughout the winter

we need an organizer!

The time is near. There will be a new forum soon to help out our community as a whole.
We will need volunteers to help.

Supreme Court never ruled any such thing. That's propaganda disseminated to low information voters, serially repeating a lie will never fundamentally transform it into the truth.

Stecat and anyone else who wants to help out, I'll meet you there this Sunday at 9am near King Soopers since that is where the trash is most noticeable. I can work till noon. Do you know any of the management at King Soopers? Maybe they will donate some trash bags. If you don't, I'll give them a call.

I've noticed that on windy days, there's more trash-
(like we're getting other people's trash blowin' our way!)
It's certainly not the businesses fault their customers don't dispose
of their trash better.
But it IS unsightly and I applaud any effort to rectify the situation!

Beestung, thank you.
We can not work on the 285 proper on Sunday as CDOT I believe wants at least 2 weeks notice for permits and signage, but we can work on the service road I believe and come back in a couple of weeks with proper signage and permits to work on 285.
I will be there Sunday at 9:00 am and plan to work until noon.
I do not know King Soopers management, sorry.
I will bring pop and water, a few safety vests, and some plastic trash bags.
