Meet at the Group Picnic area for a hike with an Expert Wildflower guide and discover Colorado’s wonderful wildflowers!

Bring the kids for an hour of interactive play and learning at Colorado’s newest State Park! Each week offers a different outdoor educational adventure!

Come join us at Davis Ponds for a fishing adventure! The ponds are stocked full of rainbows! Come play Backyard Bass to learn casting , then join us at the pond for “reel” fishing! ( All gear provided! Adults welcome with a valid fishing license.)

Participants will explore Colorado’s squirrels characteristics, habitat and behaviors. Then take a hike through the amazing pine forests and look for squirrel clues…

Rods and bait provided! Come join us at Davis ponds for a fun day of fly fishing!
Pond Ecology for Kids 10am-2p
Study macro invertebrates… Learn how to determine the health of water by looking at the critters that live there!
Junior Ranger Program (Ages 6-14)
Aug 3, 4, 5
Each session includes a three day program held Wed. Thur. and Fri. 11-2:30pm
The program will introduce children to the natural wonders of the park, hiking safety and their role in preserving nature for future generations.
Please fill out an application and choose one of the summer sessions prior to the first day of the session. Applications can be picked up at the Park entrance or completed on line at the Staunton State Park web site:http://www.parks.state.co.us/parks/staunton/Pages/Staunton.aspx
Drop your completed applications off at the entrance station or email them to: annie.thran@state.co.us
