Does anyone know if there is county space available anywhere? (Jeffco or Park)?

How about a school? Work could be done in the parking lot throughout the nicer weather, then move into the gym in bad weather.

I left some messages today and will hopefully hear back on Monday. One was to Conifer High School, and the other to Chief McLaughlin at Elk Creek FD. I'll let everyone know what I find out.

Thanks ElkcreekGeek, for the effort. i think lots of people will start appreciating this once it gets off the ground. Fresh veggies/fruit are hugely expensive in the store.

I have no doubt Marjo. I just bought some new canning supplies and equipment. Sure wish I could have gotten some of those strawberries. Hopefully I've got time to build my pantry between everything else I've got going on.

Oh yeah, I also sent an email to the Conifer Chamber in case they have any ideas.

The winter location for the Golden group is in an industrial park. I don't recall ever seeing such a thing along 285, but maybe that will help get someone's creative juices flowing.

Just need a good sized area with perhaps a garage door that can be closed to help keep the elements at bay.

I met one of our Pinecam buddies at the Golden site this morning =) Donna, I saw that you got the organic box, what was in it?

I got the conventional basket, the juicing kit add-on, and a case of strawberries.

Conventional basket: bunch salad savoy, 2 yellow onions, 5 lbs potatoes (I think Russet), 4 avocados, bag of little sweet peppers, 1 lb strawberries, large pineapple, 6 bananas, 4 large navel oranges, 4 large granny smith apples, and 2 lemons.
For volunteering I got an extra bag of the little sweet peppers!

Juicing Kit Add-On: parsley, 1 lb celery, 1 lb carrots, english cucumber, 6 junami apples, bunch purple kale, lemon, ginger, and 3 large beets with the greens.

Quite the hall for the middle of winter!

The next order date is 1/28-1/29 and the pickup day is 2/2.

I created a Facebook group called Bountiful Baskets--Foothills, Colorado. I'll be posting information there, and here, to keep everyone updated with the progress. I'll also be creating Events for the group for every delivery. I have one Event posted so far, Golden Volunteer Day on Feb. 2nd. If you don't mind losing your anonymity, you can join the group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/bbfcgroup/
Again, I will still be posting info here, so joining the group isn't necessary for Pinecammers. Admins of the group are those that have agreed to be VSC's.

Okay, schools are a no go. CHS has too many Saturday events, and the elementary and middle schools require an employee to be present and union regs mandate they be paid for at least four hours...not gonna happen.

Pinning hopes on firehouses and waiting to hear back from the ECFD Chief. I know some folks that volunteer for North Fork, and it sounds like the Pine Grove firehouse is a good potential site, but I'm hoping to get closer to 285.

I've been spreading the word everywhere I go and have gotten several more people to sign up. Please keep doing the same as I'm confident we'll find a good location soon. I'll keep the updates coming and encourage you all to keep thinking of potential locations. Hope everyone is having a great day!

Just an update: I heard from the regional VSC yesterday and will be talking to her soon. She's busy this weekend, so hopefully Monday. I'm still on for volunteering in Golden on the 2nd. Have had no response from ECFD to my calls or emails, so going to get a little more proactive. Including my wife and myself, looks like we now have four VSC's for our location...which is great news. Hopefully, by the time next weekend is over we'll have a location and be set to get rolling.
